Modern Mail Security Gateway for hosting and enterprise mail operations

Pitbull Secure Gateway is built for hosting providers, enterprise IT and mail operations teams. It protects SMTP traffic, manages inbound/outbound mail flows, and unifies quarantine, reporting, audit, firewall, NOC and customer portal in one panel.

Core problems in mail operations

Spam, malware, outbound compromise, queue chaos and log blind spots — Pitbull Secure Gateway addresses them in one solution.

Spam and malware pressure

Inbound spam, phishing and malware consume server resources; consistent policy cannot be applied without a centralized SMTP gateway.

Outbound compromise

Compromised accounts or malicious tenants destroy shared IP reputation; delivery is affected for days.

Queue chaos

Stuck messages, bounce waves and delivery status blind spots leave ops teams without visibility.

Log and audit blind spots

Scattered logs, missing audit trails and no per-customer reporting make scalable operations impossible.

Advanced Delivery & Operations Security

Intelligent Operations Layer for Enterprise Email Delivery

Pitbull does more than filter spam — it manages high-volume email traffic, IP reputation, queue health and provider behaviour.

Controlled Transport Pool

High-volume outbound traffic is not piled onto a single IP — it is distributed across controlled pools. Provider-specific delivery policies apply, and new IPs are warmed up safely.

“Pitbull protects IP reputation and improves delivery continuity by distributing high-volume outbound mail across controlled transport pools instead of overloading a single IP.”

Smart Reputation Retry

Temporary provider blocks are not treated as permanent failures. Mail is not lost — the system waits and retries in a controlled way. Operators can pause, resume and run controlled provider tests.

“During temporary provider blocks, mail is not lost — Pitbull holds delivery in a controlled way, retries and makes the situation visible to operations teams.”

Bounce Notification Control

Failed delivery notifications can be kept in logs without bloating the queue. Unnecessary bounce traffic and backscatter risk are reduced. Active or passive mode is selectable from the panel.

“Delivery errors are not lost, but unnecessary bounce emails do not reload the system. Error evidence is preserved in logs.”

Queue Duplicate Guard

The same message is prevented from being queued repeatedly due to temporary errors or retry loops. Resource use and queue load drop in high-volume environments.

“Pitbull reduces resource consumption and keeps the delivery queue healthy by preventing the same email from being queued over and over.”

Safe Data Retention

Live log and analysis data are managed with controlled retention policies. Long cleanup jobs continue in the background even if the panel session ends; critical records are preserved.

“Live log and analysis data are managed with controlled retention policies, keeping system resources balanced over the long term.”

Bulk Release & FP Management

Quarantined messages can be released in bulk. Narrow trusted rules can be created for flows marked as false positives — not a broad whitelist, but proven and limited learning.

“False positives are managed without exhausting operations teams; safe mail is released quickly and similar cases are learned in a controlled way.”

End-to-End Operations Visibility

Accept, scan, queue, delivery and error stages are recorded clearly. IT teams can see which provider rejected mail, why, and which policy was applied.

“Pitbull forensic logging shows IT teams the full email journey end to end — problems are solved with evidence, not guesswork.”

What is Pitbull Secure Gateway?

Pitbull Secure Gateway is a modern Mail Security Gateway that protects SMTP traffic, manages inbound and outbound mail flows, and delivers quarantine, reporting, audit, firewall, NOC and customer portal capabilities. It is designed for hosting providers, enterprise IT teams and mail operations teams.

Security Engine

  • SMTP inbound mail gateway and outbound relay / smarthost support
  • Multi-tenant customer and domain management
  • Rspamd integration; ClamAV and Avast REST antivirus providers
  • Selectable antivirus: clamav, avast_rest or off
  • Spam, malware, phishing and policy decisions — SMTP hot path performance-focused
  • Domain-based TLS policies, STARTTLS fallback control
  • DSN / backscatter suppression, BATV / Backscatter Guard
  • SMTP DATA abort guard, message size and DATA line limit policies

Quarantine & Policy

  • Quarantine management, mail preview and Turkish charset decode (Windows-1254 / ISO-8859-9)
  • Score, threshold, SPF/DKIM/DMARC and symbol breakdown
  • Attachment / risk signal visibility
  • False positive marking, admin-approved quarantine release
  • False positive reporting via customer portal

Operations & NOC

  • Queue / spool management, retry, bounce and delivery status visibility
  • SMTP trace and message lifecycle tracking
  • Advanced / forensic log profiles
  • Dashboard: daily traffic, delivery, reject, quarantine, queue statistics
  • SMTP Abuse Radar, GeoIP Radar, Country / ASN visibility (observe-only by default)
  • Emergency Outbound Lockdown, quick outbound sender block from NOC
  • Outbound rate limit, daily limit and relay IP / customer synchronization

Customer portal & reporting

  • Customer scoped mail log, audit and reports
  • Admin and customer reporting, CSV export, PDF report export
  • Executive-style customer PDF reports

Firewall, Alerts & Audit

  • CIDR blacklist / whitelist, timed bans (permanent, 1 day, 48 hours, 1 week, 1 month)
  • Blacklist hit counters, last hit time and IP visibility
  • Sender blacklist, firewall logs and archiving
  • Telegram, email and webhook alerts; Alert Policy Engine and Alert Center
  • Alarm system with cooldown / recovery / acknowledgement
  • Audit log: admin users, roles, sessions; recovery/support API key structure

Deployment & infrastructure

  • Redis / Valkey compatible data layer, Redis 8 / RedisSearch log search
  • Fallback log indexes, retention and archiving, backup / restore (phase 1)
  • Security policy clone, DNS/MX cache flush
  • Secure root/system helper architecture — panel does not run root commands directly
  • SSH port open/close panel helper

Security principles

Heavy analysis does not slow the mail acceptance path. Radar screens run observe-only by default; auto ban/reject/quarantine activates only with explicit policy. Sensitive data is masked; tokens, API keys and passwords are not logged. KVKK/GDPR compliant log separation is targeted.

How it works

  1. 1 Point MX records to the Pitbull gateway address via DNS panel (priority 10).
  2. 2 Add include:_spf.pitbull.com.tr to your existing SPF TXT record.
  3. 3 Add the domain in the Pitbull customer portal; publish the generated DKIM TXT to DNS.
  4. 4 Send a test email; verify inbound traffic and DNS checks in the NOC panel.
  5. 5 Optional: route outbound traffic through the gateway via smarthost/relayhost.
